Release of the ISU World Cup Speed Skating Final (March,17)

The ISU World Cup Speed Skating Final began in the Minsk-Arena on 17 March, 2018.

The competition started with the Ladies 500m race. 6 countries took part in the race. The 1st place belongs to the representative of the Czech Republic Karolina Erbanova. The participant from Austria Vanessa Herzog took the 2nd place. The 3rd place went to a Russian speed skater Angelina Golikova.

The championships continued with the Men 500m race, in which 12 sportsmen took part. The 1st place went to Hein Otterspeer, Jan Smeekens has gained the silver medal, Ronald Mulder took the 3rd place. All of the winners represented The Netherlands.

Right after the men 500m race the Ladies Team Pursuit took place. The team of Japan got a gold medal. The team of the Netherlands turned out to be silver medal winners. The bronze medals went to the team of Germany.

The Men Team Pursuit followed the event. As a result, the team from Norway took the 1st place. The 2nd place went to the representatives of Italy, and the speed skaters from Japan were on the 3rd place.

The event was followed by the Ladies 1000m race. The 1st place belongs to Marrit Lenstra from the Netherlands. Hege Bokko from Norway took the 2nd place, as Yekaterina Shikhova from Russia was on the 3rd position.

As the competition was going by the Men 1000m race finished. The best results were achieved by Kjeld Nuis, Kai Verbij from the Netherlands, and Havard Holmefjord Lorentzen from Norway, who won gold, silver and bronze medals respectively. The participant from Belarus Ignat Golovatyuk appeared on the 10th place.

The Ladies 3000m race brought given results. The 1st place went to Antoinette De Jong from the Netherlands, the silver medal belongs to Marina Zueva from Belarus. Ivanie Blondin from Canada turned out to be the 3rd.

The first day of the competition finished with the Men 5000m race. The 1st place went to Sverre Lunde Pedersen from Norway. The 2nd place belongs to Alexander Rumyantsev from Russia, and Marcel Bosker from the Netherlands was on the 3rd place.
